Research Expertise
As Technical Supervisor and Manager of the Molecular Pathology Core
Lab, I specialize in staining for mRNAs, retroviridae, and proteins by
in-situ hybridization, immunolocalization, and histochemistry; laser-
capture microdissection; digital image processing and analysis; and
photomicrography for client and collaborative research endeavors.
I draw on twenty-plus years of technical and lab management experience with
light and electron microscopy, histology, molecular biology, cell culture,
clinical pathology, and lab animal/plant science.
I work primarily in the lab's microscopy and imaging facility located
in the Moss Heart and Reynolds Cardiovascular Centers, augmenting
research efforts investigating muscle development and heart disease.
Additionally, I assist the lab's long standing research oriented
histology and molecular pathology collaborations with Howard Hughes
Medical Institute, the Division of Comparative Medicine, and the
Departments of Internal Medicine, Pathology, Physiology, Molecular
Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and Microbiology.
